iOmniscient launches simplified product
To date iOmniscient has built its
reputation by offering Intelligent
Surveillance Products for the
sophisticated user products that can
usually do what no competitive product
can.
Today we are announcing a new range
of products aimed at the less
sophisticated user. These products will
be much simpler to use and come in at
a much lower price point making it very attractive to resellers who are
targeting the Small and Medium Enterprise market.
IQ-60 and IQ-80 will provide Intruder Detection. They will have some
Nuisance Alarm Minimization System (NAMS)
functionality which is what
makes the more sophisticated products quite unique. However the settings
will be simplified to indoor or outdoor making it much easier to
implement. Similarly IQ-65 and IQ-85 will provide Counting for this market.
Healthcheck ensures you know what is working
The iOmniscient Healthcheck system that was launched a short while back
has become extremely popular as it allows the user to monitor the health of
the entire system. On a map or schematic diagram you can locate every
camera and observe its status. If it malfunctions for any reason an alarm
will be exhibited on the map. By clicking on the camera icon one can see
the image.
![]() Who can count the crowds
at World Youth Day?
When the Pope and 200,000 pilgrims
visited Sydney in July there was only one
company that could be relied on to count
the crowds accurately. iOmniscients IQ-
120 product continues to be the product
of choice whenever large crowds have to
be managed.
The system will let you know if the cameras are out of focus, have been
sabotaged or moved, or just cannot see because of heavy rain or snow.
The system helps cut down on maintenance costs by alerting you to
problems with cameras. Being a very low cost system users will usually
implement these on every camera within their environment.
No one can steal the Diamond
STI-GLOBAL, one of
iOmniscients key partners in
Spain launched a friendly
challenge to visitors to the
SICUR 08 exhibition. They
set up a famous, large
diamond perched on a
column on the stand of the
Ombuds Security Company
and challenged anyone to
steal it without being
noticed.
So confident were they that
they placed the diamond on
the stand unprotected by anything other than iOmniscients software.
IQ-140 software and two conventional cameras were used to set up the
virtual shield. Innovative visitors adopted many techniques to try and steal
the jewel but none were successful and the diamond was finally returned
safely to its museum home.
![]() Hint to our Resellers on How to Win Tenders
As resellers you will be bidding on tenders and its often tempting to bid with our most sophisticated products. As you
know all of our products are rated based on their level of sophistication their IQ Rating. Just as with human IQ, 100 is
the average IQ of video analytics products. Some people (and products) are more intelligent others are less so. Our
major competitors cannot perform above the IQ-110 level most cannot get beyond IQ-100. Many operate at
significantly lower levels. At the top of the range we have international patents so no one else can do things like the
detection of objects that may be invisible to the human eye in a crowded scene.
Often your customers will not be aware of the differences in technology between suppliers so their tenders will tend to be
very vague. For instance if the requirements call for left luggage detection then many suppliers can comply because
they can use simple Video Motion Detection to achieve this in an empty scene with an occasional passerby. However if
they had specified that the product had to operate in a very crowded scene it would eliminate many less suitable
products.
If the customer does not understand the difference between various technologies they may make their decision purely on
price. Since the requirements in tenders are often vague we suggest you bid with IQ-100 or IQ-110. These should do
EVERYTHING that any competitor can do at a very attractive price. This allows your customer to compare apples with
apples. You can then offer the much more sophisticated technologies we offer (IQ-115 to IQ-180 and the industry specific
products) as options if the customer does indeed want those capabilities.
