iOmniscient Named as Finalist for IFSEC 2008 Award
On the 10th
of May the Judging Panel of the British Security Industry
Association (BSIA) will select the winner of the 2008 IFSEC Award.
iOmniscient has been advised that it has been selected as a finalist in the
CCTV category for this very prestigious award for its patent pending IQ-
Hawk technology which enables Detection and Identification on a single
camera.
Traditionally people used a PTZ camera to zoom in on a person or object
when an event was detected. However PTZ cameras are easy to defeat as a
decoy can be used to mislead the camera while a second person intrudes
somewhere else. Using IQ-Hawk the system will continue detecting while
doing multiple digital zooms to identify the persons responsible for the
events.
iOmniscient won an IFSEC Award in 2004 for its internationally patented IQ-
180 product which can detect objects that are virtually invisible to the human
eye even in crowded scenes and we are very proud to be considered for the
Award in 2008.
Partnerships Enhance the iOmniscient Portfolio
iOmniscient believes in partnering with providers of the best of breed in
every technology class. We are very selective about who we partner with as
we want to work with partners who share our commitment to quality and
technology leadership. By providing tight integration with each of these
suppliers its customers can implement the worlds best intelligence system
along with complementary products from other suppliers.
Genetec Links Up With iOmniscient

Infinova Gets Implanted
Infinova has incorporated the IQ-Implant into its
newest range of cameras and encoders. Recently Infinova won the 2007
Frost and Sullivan Award for its cameras. As such they were already
considered one of the best in the industry for severe and rugged use. Now
with the IQ-Implant they will be highly intelligent as well. Jeffrey Liu,
Founder and President of Infinova said that the close partnership between
the two companies will bring the most advanced intelligent camera for
rugged environments to the market.
Teleste Builds Multi-Channel Encoder

There is Left Luggage and then there is Left Luggage in a Crowd
We see many new entrants in the field of Video Analysis and several of them
claim their systems can do Left Luggage Detection but this term is often
misused. Its therefore very important to understand exactly what is available.
These systems detect left luggage only in a relatively empty area within a
few seconds of it being left there. This is very simple to do and for those who
are familiar with the IQ Rating system this can be done with IQ-100
technology.Detecting luggage in empty spaces is not useful. Further if every
bag that was put down for 5 or 10 seconds is detected in a busy railway
station or airport one would detect thousands of bags every hour.
The real requirement from Security Professionals is Luggage Detection in a
Crowded Scene. The requirement is to detect the bag if it is still there after
10 or 15 minutes and even though crowds of thousands of people have
walked in front of it and obscured it for significant lengths of time. This
requires the internationally patented IQ-140 technology which is only
available from iOmniscient.
We would like to remind customers when specifying Left Luggage Detection
and all the related detections such as theft, graffiti and vandalism detection
to specify that the system has to work in a crowded scene. Otherwise they
will share the experience of several airports who merely asked for Left
Luggage detection and now have systems that are of little use to them.
