In a location such as an airport terminal where every person has a few items of luggage how can anyone be expected to keep track of every bag or item that is put down and determine its level of threat.

In the busy environment of a crowded airport terminal innocent people may regularly obscure an abandoned bag as they walk past it, no other software in the world is capable of detecting that bag.

Additionally , in a place like a busy airport terminal people will often put bags down for a few minutes. The system must be smart enough to distinguish between such objects and a bag that has been abandoned for a significant period of time.

1. Detection of suspicious objects or bags that are left abandoned in a busy and crowded airport terminal despite obscuration and constant passenger movement in the camera’s field of vision (IQ-140, IQ-180)

2. Detection of even virtually invisible tiny objects/bags despite low contrast, obscuration and constant movement (IQ-180)

3. Perimeter Protection to ensure the runways are clear – alarms if people/vehicles move across the runway whilst ignoring normal traffic of planes taking off and landing. (IQ-120, IQ-100)

4. Directional alarm for people crossing from non-sterile to sterile areas in the wrong direction (IQ-120, IQ-110)

5. Detection of people loitering in and around terminal (IQ-120)

6. Detection of vehicles parking for too long in front of terminal / in no parking areas (IQ-140, IQ-180)

7. Detect if bags have stopped moving on part of the conveyor belt, and alert the relevant airport staff (IQ-140, IQ-180)

8. Ability to detect trolleys which are loaded with luggage (and therefore) represent a security threat while ignoring trolleys with no luggage on them (and therefore not a security threat) (IQ-140, IQ-180)

9. Alternatively the software can be configured to detect when an empty trolley has been abandoned (for retrieval) while ignoring loaded trolleys. (IQ-140, IQ-180)

10. Perimeter Protection and Intrusion Detection to secure off-limits areas of the terminals, hangars, or airport property at night (or day) (IQ-120, IQ-100)

11. Standard Counting (IQ-120, IQ-110) of human traffic around terminal for statistical analysis to:

  • value and sell shop space
  • direct ground staff to areas where there is a lot of activity
  • determine busiest areas of the terminals
  • determine the busiest times of the day/week/month/year
  • gauge the effectiveness of different marketing campaigns

12. Crowd Counting with the ability to alert relevant personnel if areas of terminal become overcrowded or a queue reaches a certain maximum size (IQ-120)

13. PDA capability to give the Airport Manager / security guard the ability to view and manage all activity even if they are moving about.
